  • Girl's and women’s sports
  • Girl's locker rooms
  • Women’s prisons

TALKING POINTS (Put into your own words):

  • This ordinance is far more explicit than anything in California state law, and will actually take rights and opportunities away from women and girls while putting them at more risk.
  • This ordinance puts into law language that goes far beyond what the state of California has done, and despite how it is being sold, will take away rights and opportunities from girls and women while making them less safe.
  • The most important part of the Ordinance is Section 1, parts E & F which redefines “women and girls” to include males and will mandate that males who self-identify as women must be allowed full access to girls and women’s sports, girl's locker rooms, women’s prisons, domestic violence shelters, etc.
FROM THE ORDINANCE: “'Women and girls" shall mean those who identify as women and girls, including transgender women and gender nonconforming, and those assigned female at birth who include non-binary, transgender men and Intersex communities."
